Odisha`s winning streak in the East Zone Women`s U-19 Cricket Tournament ended with a 21-run defeat at the hands of Assam at Nehru Stadium in Guwahati today. In reply to the home teams modest total of 132 for eight, Odisha folded up for 111.
Erratic bowling cost Odisha dear as they conceded 26 extras, including 21 wides. Skipper Swagatika Rath, however, put up good performance, claming two wickets and top-scoring with 39 runs. Odisha, who had beaten Tripura and Jharkhand in their first two matches, would meet Bengal in the fourth and last league game October 31.
